Events

Spark© Summer Exchange Program

Students in the Japanese Language Program are encouraged to apply to the Cultural Exchange Initiative’s Spark Program. Participants spend 1–2 weeks in Japan, volunteer as facilitators for English Immersion and presentation camps, work with local schools, and gain firsthand experience with Japanese culture. Many past participants later joined the JET Program and worked in Japan.

:Re_ Party

:Re_ is our annual Japanese-learning group party. We welcome the chance to bring the Japanese-learning community together for this special event.

LET’S TALK ABOUT ANIME

Special event partnering with Anime Boston. Courses in conversational Japanese plus some terms used in anime and games for Anime fans and students.

Why Us?

Proven Teaching Methodology

Our classes focus on selected topics and real-life situations. Activities are designed to help students understand and respond to those topics and situations as they would in the real world.

Instructor-led Experience

All instructors have a minimum of 15 years of teaching experience. Instructors will lead the conversation in the online and In-Person class and work with students directly.

Japanese Conversation Partners

A select group of Japanese student partners, including students studying at Showa Boston, will participate in conversational practice during the class, targeting key learning areas.

What People Are Saying

Maria

“Great school, I've been studying Japanese for 1 year with them (2 semesters) and just signed up for the next one. Teachers are very professional. This school is the best in Boston for Japanese language learners.”

Christina

“The campus itself is lovely and there is lots of free parking, which is helpful if you are visiting for class, or any of the many festivals the university hosts throughout the year. If you like Japan and Japanese culture, want to learn Japanese, or meet Japanese friends, this is a great place to get involved.”
